quick bits and helpful tips:

self-motivation can only go so far; find those who inspire you and sit next to them.

ask early and often for critiques from studiomates on the project you are working on. oftentimes, you are missing something a new perspective will easily see.

use your professors. find out what they can provide for you, and focus on that. don't try over and over again to use them for something they don't know.

if you are uninspired from your professor, stop complaining about them and instead ask for critiques from other professors.

when in doubt, ask someone older.

when you're older, go downstairs and help someone younger.

test print. each printer is different, and your computer screen misrepresents the actual tones.

start printing early. having your work done but not printed is not an excuse for a late project.

hand-draw. the parallel bar is a tool, just as much as the computer is. the best projects incorporate a variety of tools and processes.

take snack breaks, but have meals delivered.

be proud of what you produce. this usually demands you spend time on it.
