APLA Alumni Exhibit and Online Gallery

Beyond the Groundwork, a physical and digital exhibition of work by the faculty and alumni of the College of Architecture, Design and Construction (CADC)’s School of Architecture, Planning, and Landscape Architecture will open at Jule Collins Smith Museum of Fine Art (JCSM) on February 12 and will run through February 27. The opening reception on Sunday, February 13, from 6 to 9 pm. Is open to faculty, staff, alumni and students. This exhibition of work both in and around architecture will present the quality and diversity of talent among the APLA alumni and faculty. Imaging Technologies of Birmingham is providing the printing and mounting of exhibition boards.

“We invited our Architecture Program alumni to submit work regardless of whether they had taken a traditional or unconventional career path,” says David Hinson, Head of the School of Architecture, Planning, and Landscape Architecture. “We were very pleased and excited by the materials received. This work is a great display of the range and quality of work our Alumni and faculty are doing.”

APLA alumni from classes 1970 through 2010 have submitted more than 100 collections of work for the exhibition. This work will become part of a permanent online exhibit on the College of Architecture Design and Construction’s website.
