Classes begin May 2008 - Apply for Admission Summer 2008
Must Complete Summer Foundations Courses.
Waiver for appropriate Foundation Courses will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis for students with Architectural and Civil Engineering backgrounds, or extensive field experience. Such an accommodation should be requested in writing to the Admin Support Specialist, via e-mail at thaxtrk@auburn.edu.

Preliminary Requirements
A graduate student must hold a normal graduate student classification for coursework to count towards their Masters degree. To verify your classification for enrollment, please contact the Graduate School at (334) 844-4700.
You should have completed the following steps:
- Obtained a current copy of the A.U. Bulletin. For a schedule of the tuition structure effective Fall 2007, click here.

Office at (334) 844-4634. - Met the Auburn Graduate School minimum criteria for acceptance
- Completed all other Schoolal requirements (letters of recommendation, resume, etc.)
Elective Courses
Electives must be approved in advance by the Graduate Program Officer, and must be 6000 or 7000 level courses. Refer to the A.U. Graduate School Bulletin for course descriptions or contact Anoop Sattineni, Associate Professor and Graduate Program Officer, (334) 844-5385 or e-mail sattian@auburn.edu.
Post Baccalaureate Work
ALL required post-baccalaureate (pre-requisite) course work (2000, 3000, 4000, and 5000 level courses) must be taken on a grade awarded basis for credit. No satisfactory/unsatisfactory grade is acceptable. ALL prerequisite course work must be taken prior to registering for MBC graduate classes. Exceptions may be granted by the GPO.
Admission Requirements
Admission to Auburn University's Master of Building Construction Program is based on consideration of the applicant's proven ability to perform academic work at a superior level, leadership qualities, and overall accomplishments.
Minimum admission requirements include:
- Meeting the General Admission Requirements of the Graduate School as outlined in the A.U. Bulletin
- Completion of the Graduate Record Exam ( GRE ) General Test, composed of verbal, quantitative, and analytical writing sections
- A 3.0 GPA of the last two years of undergraduate education
- Providing acceptable letters of recommendation
The Dean of the Graduate School is the only person at Auburn University authorized to admit students, refuse admission, or waive any requirement.
- The first step in the application process is to visit the Graduate School web site to complete a Graduate School Admissions Application. Select "Building Science - Construction (BSCIC)" from the drop down menu at the beginning of the application. In addition to completing the application, be sure to read the information provided in the link entitled "Admission Requirements". This link gives very specific information regarding documentation which must be provided as part of the application process. Note: Your transcript(s) and GRE scores will need to be forwarded directly to the Graduate School.
- Non-traditional students (those without undergraduate degrees in construction) will begin the program during the Summer 2008 academic term (mid-May). Upon completion of the Foundation Courses, their course of study will merge with the other graduate students during Fall semester.
- In addition to the documentation required by the Graduate School, the following should be submitted to the School of Building Science to the attention of the Admin Support Specialist:
- Letters of recommendation from three sources. Print 3 copies of the form from the web site, then provide each of the three sources with a form letter, along with a pre-addressed, stamped envelope addressed to Ramona Thaxton, School of Building Science, 118 M. Miller Gorrie Center, 270 W. Samford Avenue, Auburn University, AL 36849-5315. In addition to completing the form letter, each source should write a letter on their own company or university letterhead, and enclose both documents in the envelope, with the respondent's signature across the seal.
- A current one-page resume, which may be mailed to the address above. A digital copy is preferred, in Microsoft Word format, and may be e-mailed to Ramona Thaxton at thaxtrk@auburn.edu.
- Statement of purpose (1500 words or less) explaining your motivation for seeking a graduate degree in Building Construction at Auburn University.
