Graduate Minor in Community Planning
Community Planning is a professional field addressing the functional and experiential aspects of the environment (physical, social, natural). Planning deals with analysis, identification of alternatives, and devising recommendations for implementation.
The Minor in Community Planning will afford students who have selected alternative, yet complimentary, educational/career paths, the opportunity to have a minor understanding of the field of planning and have that noted. For students in the Master of Building Construction program, their educational and career goals are typically in the areas of construction and/or real estate development. A Minor in Planning will provide knowledge about working with city planning schools, private consultants, and communities. The Minor affords those students a working knowledge of the field without completing all of the coursework for the Masters degree in Planning.
The plan of study for graduate students who are pursuing the Community Planning Minor must satisfy all requirements for the Master's degree in their program area plus the specific requirements for the Minor.
