Building Science Academic Standards
Professional BSCI Program application due dates are:
- Spring admission due December 6, 2006
- Summer admission due January 25, 2007
- Fall admission due May 10, 2007
For the fall and summer semesters, thirty applicants are chosen in rank order based upon the GPA calculation described in item two (2). Repeat applicants will be evaluated based upon grades received in all twenty courses that comprise the Pre-Building Science curriculum (see items two (2), three (3), and five (5)). For the spring semester, sixty applicants are chosen in rank order based upon the GPA calculation described in item two (2), where repeat applicants are evaluated based upon grades received in all twenty courses that comprise the Pre-Building Science curriculum (see items two (2), three (3), and five (5)). No preference will be given to either first-time or repeat applicants.
- You must contact CADC Student Services to communicate your intention to apply for the professional program.
- Students wishing to apply for the professional program must have passed each of the courses listed below by the
application deadline. (NOTE: A grade of 'C' or better is required for ENGL 1100 and ENGL 1120, per the University
Bulletin) The GPA calculation is as follows:

- BSCI 2350, ENGL 2210, PHYS 1510, COMM 1000, and Core Social Science I must be completed by the end of the semester indicated in the following table:
If you are applying for: You must have passed each of the courses listed in this item by the end of: Spring Semester 2007 Fall Semester 2006 Summer Semester 2007 Spring Semester 2007 Fall Semester 2007 Summer Semester 2007 - You cannot apply for the Fall Semester in May if you have already been accepted to the summer/CO-OP semester.
- If you are not selected for the professional program on your initial application, your second application will also take the courses listed in item three (3) into account for the first 40% of the GPA calculation. You must communicate to CADC Student Services that you intend to apply a second time.
- If you are applying for the Fall or Spring Semesters (applications due in May and December, respectively), you should preregister for any non-BSCI classes that are required, should you be accepted. Your schedule should leave the BSCI class times free should you be successful in your application. CADC Student Services will reserve seats in the appropriate BSCI classes until the fall and spring admissions processes have been completed. NOTE: To be eligible to receive financial aid, you must register for a minimum of 12 hours.
- It is the intention of the School to notify students of their admission status within a week of the application deadline. CADC Student Services will facilitate all communication regarding acceptance. After being admitted to the professional program, any student receiving a grade below "C" in any 3000- or 4000-level Building Science course, or any student whose cumulative GPA falls below 2.5 will be reviewed by the School Academic Standards Committee for approval to continue in the program. Any student who is reviewed may be asked to repeat a course or to withdraw from the program. The school reserves the right to limit enrollment based on resources available.
