Associated Builders and Contractors
ABC

ABC is a national trade association representing over 23,000 contractors, subcontractors, material suppliers and related firms from across the country and from all specialites in the construction industry. It is the only national association devoted exclusively to the "merit shop" philosophy of providing the best management techniques, regardless of labor affiliation. The student ABC chapter at Auburn University offers opportunities to meet industry executives, attend field trips and fundraising events, and to participate in construction management competitions at a national level and is open to all undergraduate and graduate Pre-BSCI and BSCI students.

The AGC Builders Guild is a student chapter of the Alabama chapter Associated General Contractors of America. The AGC is the nation's oldest and largest construction trade association. Our mission is to provide Building Science students with activities that compliment the curriculum and enhance classroom learning: service projects, attending industry events, field trips, and student competitions. Builders Guild is open to all graduate and undergraduate BSCI and Pre-BSCI students.

The National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) is an organization founded in 1955 and is currently comprised of 6,500 women throughout America and Canada who nare enthusiastic about the construction industry. Our new student group will expose students to the continuing growth of diversification as more women choose careers in construction. Our mission is:
- Provide interested students with an opportunity to interact with successful women in the construction industry and
- To be actively involved in the high schools, encouraging young women who are interested to embrace this opportunity that was previously viewed as a non-traditional career for women.
This organization is open to all undergraduate and graduate Pre-BSCI, BSCI, and Architecture students.
Design Build Institute of America

The DBIA is a student chapter dedicated to inform students about the practice of Design-Build, career possibilities, and the future impact the Design-Build profession will have on the construction industry. Membership is open to all Pre-BSCI, BSCI, and Architecture students.
Emerging Green Builders

It is our goal to further the knowledge and promotion of environmentally friendly buildings through the development of an Auburn Chapter of the Emerging Green Builders, associated with the United States Green Building Council's Alabama Chapter. The Mission Statement of the USGBC is to promote buildings that are environmentally responsible, profitable and healthy places to live and work. It will be our ongoing goal to hold events which uphold this Mission . A few of the events that we are looking to sponsor consist of lectures, LEED Accreditation Seminars and of course Earth Day. We would like to extend and invitation for membership to all interested parties. If you are interested and would like to lend your support we would be greatly honored. Membership is open to all Pre-BSCI, BSCI, and Architecture students.

The HPG is a student organization which promotes the preservation and restoration of our architectural heritage. Although the main focus is devoted to community service through architectural restoration, the Guild also provides educational and social activities. It is open to students throughout the university, but most of the members are Pre-BSCI, BSCI, and Architecture.
National Association of Home Builders
NAHB

NAHB is a trade assoication representing more than 215,000 residential home building and remodeling industry members. Known as the "voice of the housing industry," NAHB is affiliated with more than 800 state and local home builders associations around the country. The student chapter provides interested students with an opportunity to interact with industry professionals. There is an industry-basaed competition held each year in conjunction with the International Builder's Show. This organization is open to all Pre-BSCI and BSCI students.
Sigma Lambda Chi

The fundamental purpose of Sigma Lambda Chi is to provide recognition to outstanding students in construction curricula. Sigma Lambda Chi is the society that offers students the opportunity to be recognized locally and internationally for the their academic acomplishments as a construction major. Membership is by invitation only and represents the top 10% of the students in the School of Building Science.
