By configuring the two modules in an ‘L’ shape this scheme achieves several project goals:
- A stronger engagement with the front and rear zones of the lot.
- A larger, bolder “street presence” for a relatively small house.
- “Bonus” living spaces in the form of a large screened porch at the front and a large “framed” exterior space at the rear.
- A large, open space for the public zone of the program.
- An arrangement of bedrooms into two zones allowing adult family members a degree of privacy not normally found in a house of this size.
