This week we continued work on a full scale mock up of a section of the house and porch. We also continued work on the cabinets and got them all cut, sanded, and ready for assembly.

To build the mock up we salvaged wood from different job sites and used whatever we could get. Here’s Russ pulling nails out of a board so that it can be used later.

On Monday we got two of the major beams and columns up in place.

While cutting all the boards we quickly learned the annoyance of saw dust in one’s eyes. Ryan for example, learned the hard way.

Bill tried to keep it out of his eyes using this method.

Ryan soon found out that safety glasses were the best way to keep the dust out of his eyes.

While this was going on the cabinet team was using the router to cut out the cabinets.

Here’s Joey analyzing the cut.

Here he is putting some screws in the board.

Here is Simon finishing off the cabinets and chiseling away at the excess wood.

On Wednessday we worked on getting the third major beam and column of the porch up. Here is Ryan and Joey trying to get it level.

We soon got it level and discussed what to do next.
