People

The School of Architecture exists at the intersection of individual conceptual development and the development of collective, community practices. Our “community of practice” is formed by people who engage in a process of collective learning in a shared domain of human endeavor. We are a group of people who share a concern and a passion for environmental design and planning, and for learning how to do it better through constant interaction and collaboration.

Our faculty represent a wide range of contemporary approaches to design, history, planning and urban theory. Our students originate from a wider range of locales than any other state institution of higher learning in the United States. Together we form a community of practice that enriches all of our lives by making evident the fundamental relationships of landscape and building, human and habitat, inside and outside, city and citizen, public and private.
