Behzad Nakhjavan
Behzad Nakhjavan is a professor of architecture and the Chair of the Architecture Program. Having received a Master of Architecture from Washington University in St. Louis and practiced for 7 yrs. in US. and UK, he joined the faculty of architecture in Auburn in 1988. Since moving to Auburn he has managed to combine both teaching and building as a way to bridge the gap between theory and practice.
In his teachings Prof. Nakhjavan attempts to inspire his students to search for forms that are both timely and timeless, and embody recent concerns such as sustainability and ecology with traditional issues of beauty, craft, and function in architecture. Similarly prof. nakhjavan searches for forms with durability in both memory and experience in his own architectural practice which has received 4 separate prestigious Honor and Merit Awards form the American Institute of Architects.
Prof. Nakhjavan has been a visiting critic and lecturer at universities in the United states and abroad.
