Joint Degrees

Three joint degree options exist in conjunction with the Master of Community Planning degree program for students in Architecture, Landscape Architecture and Public Administration:

The BArch-MCP joint degree couples the five-year Bachelor of Architecture and the Master of Community Planning degrees. Undergraduate architecture students eligible to participate in this joint degree program must have taken CPLN 5000: History and Theory of Urban Form during their first four years of the Bachelor of Architecture curriculum, and must have completed one hundred twenty (120) undergraduate credit hours toward their Bachelor of Architecture degree. Including CPLN 5000, students complete a total of thirty-nine (39) CPLN-listed credit hours to earn this joint degree. The model below begins after the student has completed both CPLN 5000 and the fourth year of the architecture studio sequence.

The MCP-MLA joint degree program couples the Master of Community Planning and Master of Landscape Architecture degrees. Graduate landscape architecture students eligible to participate in this joint degree program must have taken CPLN 7460: Digital Applications for Planning, Design and Development during their first two years of the Master of Landscape Architecture curriculum. Including CPLN 7460, students complete a total of thirty-six (36) CPLN-listed credit hours to earn this joint degree. The model below begins after the student has completed both CPLN 7460 and the second year of the landscape architecture studio sequence.

The MCP-MPA joint degree program couples the Master of Community Planning and Master of Public Administration degrees. A total of fifty-seven (57) credit hours are required to earn this joint degree. Students who choose the comprehensive exam option must complete CPLN 7240 (3) and CPLN 7620 (3) in lieu of CPLN 7800 (6).
