Curriculum
The Master of Landscape Architecture (MLA) degree program offers a first professional Master of Landscape Architecture degree. The degree requirements are intended to be completed in three (academic) years of full-time study, plus a summer foundations studio. Typically, students take twelve (12) to fifteen (15) credit hours per semester.
In addition to the MLA degree, the Landscape Architecture program offers three joint degree options. Dual degrees are available with the Bachelor of Architecture, and the Master of Community Planning in the School of Architecture, and the Bachelor of Horticulture program in the College of Agriculture. All study plans include one design studio per semester, a core sequence of required courses, seminars on focused topics within the field, and a year-long individual study leading to the production of a Landscape Architecture Thesis. The Thesis Studio is advised by both a studio instructor and a self-selected Thesis Committee.
