Message from Charlene LeBleu, Assistant Professor, Program Chair
The Auburn University School of Architecture is a major presence in national design education. As a student in Auburn’s College of Architecture Design and Construction, you can expect excellent academic, research and outreach programs; up to date computer and laboratory facilities; and a world-class faculty. We are dedicated to building a landscape architecture program that reflects the strengths of our School of Architecture, and Auburn University. Employers tell us that our emphasis on design theory, sustainable systems and a strong work ethic, sets Auburn Landscape Architecture graduates apart as leaders in the workplace and the community.
The Auburn University School of Architecture, widely regarded as one of the top 20 design programs in the nation, combines the disciplines of architecture, community planning, graphic arts, industrial design and landscape architecture. There are approximately 1,250 students enrolled across the six undergraduate and five graduate degree programs within the College of Architecture Design and Construction. The Graduate Program in Landscape Architecture is committed to the same excellence in design, scholarship, and service. The Master of Landscape Architecture (MLA) adds depth to other degree programs, while in turn, those programs enrich the MLA. This reciprocity between the design disciplines is fostered through interdisciplinary collaboration, research, and publication.
The Landscape Architecture Program continually evolves to accommodate today’s design needs, while still respecting the traditions and spirit of Auburn. As we grow and change, the Program will always continue its tradition of excellence, and our faculty will continue to contribute to the knowledge of design education and scholarship. We seek to advance both the field and the profession of landscape architecture. We invite you to join us in this pursuit.
