Elements of Interior Architecture I, 2150 - This course isolates
and studies the following elements of Interior Architecture: Form, Function,
Spatial Composition and Transformation, Spatial Perception, Spatial Sequence,
Interior Typologies, Light, Experience, Proportion, Scale, and Materiality.
This class also includes introduction to web publishing and physical publishing.
Elements of Interior Architecture II, 2160 - This course isolates the elemental Interior Architecture issues of material research and the tectonics of making, including sustainable material research and exposure to design/build.
Furniture and Sustainable issues seminars -These advanced seminars offer hands on experience in building architectural objects as prototypes to test and explore existing materials and sustainable materials.
Thesis Research, 4080 -Taught in the summer semester, this course parallels the ARIA Thesis project through research, analysis, and writing assignments simultaneously supporting and directing the thesis work.
Professional Practice ARIA, 4450 -Taught in the summer semester, this course focuses on issues of Interior Architecture in contemporary practice and explores ethical issues in relation to design practice. This course differs from ARCH 4500-Professional Practice. All ARCH/ARIA students must take both ARIA 4450 and ARCH 4500.
History of Interior Architecture, 4680 -Taught in the summer semester, this course teaches history of interior architecture utilizing a case study method.
