ARIA Mission Statement:
The Interior Architecture degree program offers a holistic approach to design that focuses on the relationship between interior and exterior space. By offering Interior Architecture students the opportunity and ability to concentrate on issues related to the Interior, the program enables ARIA students to develop enhanced critical thinking abilities in relation to the construction of space, progressive materiality, and representation. Acquisition of this experience occurs in conjunction with study in the Architecture degree program. It is not possible to get this undergraduate degree in Interior Architecture without the duel Architecture professional degree. Interior Architecture students are chosen through a competitive application process.

The Interior Architecture program content addresses and reflects the current market in professional practice. In the ARIA course content, hands-on material research, material application, interior space design, built interior objects, graphic design and digital media exposure contribute to the students' versatility and value in the profession. Our graduates are Interior Architects, bridging between traditional architects and interior designers. As specialists in the design of integrated interiors, Interior Architecture students pursue Architecture licensure. Our program is a unique program in the country and is embedded within Auburn School of Architecture.

Implementation of the design of Interior Architecture is taught following and inclusive of two paradigms for practicing Interior Architecture, referred to as Model 1 and Model 2. [It should be noted that the focus of the AR/IA program includes, but is not limited to, small scale design.]
