The Spencer House, circa 1887, is situated on a 2.6 acre site along main street in Newbern, Alabama.

It has been renovated through a series of phases over the past five years which include: a summer restoration studio, work by second year students, and a number of thesis projects. The most recent addition is a kitchen/dining area with a 2 story space over the table. The dining room has a beautiful framed view east to a local catfish pond.

The Spencer House is now home to Rural Studio faculty.
