The Rural Studio decided to expand the studio's facilities so that a greater number of students may attend in the future. During the 1997/1998 academic year, thesis students designed and built a superstructure called the “Supershed" on the Morrisette property. The property was donated to the studio by a Hale County native and Auburn University Alumnus, Mr. William Morrisette.
