Located at the intersection of state highways 25 and 28, the Thomaston Farmer’s Market is among the most visible and urban of the Rural Studio projects. The corner site is adjacent to the cooperative grocery store and has thus far served as a catalyst for continued work on the grocery store. The market is an open air structure that provides a sheltered space for vendors and has a tree lined edge that creates a shady place for people to sell produce from the backs of trucks.

The open market place works with the cooperative grocery in its attempt to generate revenues within Thomaston and its surrounding area. The cooperative is funded partially through shareholder equity, so local interest in the project is strong. The City of Thomaston is also working in collaboration with Auburn's Colleges of Agriculture and Business to develop and market their Mama 'N' Em's canned jellies and preserves.
