Construction

HELLO to all. we hope that you all find this blog informative and hope to further that experience with a page dedicated to documenting the process of building the club. from this page we will show a series of slideshows that will be categorized by date so you can see what and when things have happened. We will have a short explanation for each slideshow with the images having captions located at the bottom of the window.

We hope this gives you all a better idea of how things have been going and can give some visual clarity to all of our posts.

grading begins. we have to clear the topsoil before the red clay can be brought in.

APRIL.
We started construction around the middle of the month, the county was nice enough to grade our site for free. we had some extra support from a few building science students from auburn, who helped with setting the batter-boards and cutting rebar for the first of two pours on the grade beam.

MAY.
May was a busy month for us away from the site, which kept us from getting to far with construction. we had pig roast and then graduation, which consumed the first portion of the month, but towards the end we were able to get our lumber for the lamella and to pour the first section of the grade beam which is the foundation for the above ground portion.

JUNE.
In june we had quite a bit happening. we had two concrete pours which pretty much concluded the pours needed for the foundations of the lamella structure. here are some photos of us prepping for those pours and the actual pours.

JULY.
july was a month of planning and preparation. we spent most of the month getting organized and ordering materials. we did some prep work to get the site ready for the columns which should come in at the beginning of august, and we started fabricating all the lamella pieces. the bulk of our time was spent in the studio and at morrisette under the super shed fabricating. we also organized a volleyball tournament as a fund raiser for the club’s organization costs.

AUGUST.
the beginning of the month was spent fabricating while the second half was getting the site ready to pour the slab. we had meetings with joe and andrew and started to work a lot of the kinks out of the design. we got most of the french drains dug and we got all our the receivers as well as the columns in.
