Shiny New Tin

We are all feeling both exhausted and pretty excited. We spent our weekend (Saturday and part of Sunday) hanging all of the corregated tin on the exterior of our house. The tin on our house runs horizonatally instead of vertically. This allows us to create horizontal aperatures by using corregated polycarbonate instead of corregated tin in several places on the exterior. This corregated polycarbonate occurs at several opening which will be framed on the interior with polygal (polycarbonate). These framed openings will allow for natural lighting of the houses. In working with the local cultural norm to keep windows covered, we hope that these translucent aperatures will offer clients natural light without the invasion of privacy that comes with windows.
With the completion of the corregated tin, the majority of the exterior work is complete and we will be focused almost entirely on the interior of the house. This week we will begin by installing the floor and ceiling insulation and finish materials. We will also be completing design and construction of the “core” piece for the house.
