I have been a bit negligent in blogging primarily because we have been so busy building. We have been working hard to have the house reasonably complete for the opening this Saturday! We have come a long way since the last blog entry. All of the insulation is complete, including the spray insulation for the truss walls. The interior floor, ceiling, and walls have been installed. We have also nearly completed painting the interior and the installing trim. The hardiboard which we are using as a exterior sheathing on the porch has been installed and awaits being painted. The electrical wiring is complete and the power has been turned on.

Additonally, Jeremy and I completed the design of the various pieces for the “core” (kitchen and bathroom). After completing the AutoCAD drawing files, we traveled to Auburn and cut the pieces using the CNC Router. When we are ready to install the core, the pieces are ready to be assembled. The core will not be installed until after the opening. The other tasks to be completed after the opening include sealing the floors, completing the plumbing, and installing the core/appliance.
