Models, Models, Models…

Yesterday Jason and Van most graciously allowed us time to work on our models for Dick so all of the groups huddled together into their sections of the house or pod around 10 and finally emerged to go to bed around 10:30 at night. My group, Amanda, Cassandra, Casey, and Mike (Saint Andrew’s), met in the cardboard pod and commenced cleaning and making one large table out of the beds. We finally got started only to find that we didn’t have the wood for the brick piers so Casey and Cassandra headed off to Wal-Mart while Amanda met up w/ Auburn friends Cameron and Walker and showed them Saint Luke’s. However an hour and a half later we all got back together with a plentiful amount of snacks and goodies that Casey and Cassandra bought at Wal-Mart. We accomplished getting the sill and joist layout and began working on brick piers and cutting out elevations. We are a little behind everyone else, but not too badly. We should all be done in about three weeks…

Dick went out with a bang!

Today the fall semester with Dick came to a close. It was an emotional day full of tears and laughter. Dick took his favorite class to Columbus, MS for a fun filled day of antebellum homes. Everyone was so alert as we toured these beautiful homes… staying up all night because of our section just made us more attentive. We have all developed our sketching since the beginning of the semester. And Dick, thanks so much, allowed us to really show off our talents by giving us 3 sections to draw. On a personal note, my ankle swelled to an all time high! My ankle was about the size of a large blueberry muffin, and my toes were blue and green… ummmm! So Friday I went to t-town and went to the doctor. I tore a ligament and now I’m styling a lovely black boot. I’m not supposed to do any work on my feet until the 8th. This is not a good thing, now I’m stuck doing AutoCAD until then.
