tgif, two more arches down

Thursday we were able to work for two hours. During this time we removed the verticle and horizontal members off the roof. We picked were we left off on Friday. We continued to remove the remaining verticle and horizontal members. The crane could not start up until 10am because the circuits had been exposed to moisture from the showers from the previous day. We used a hairdryer to dry the circuits. One arch was loaded on the flatbed in two pieces. We then attached the jig to the fourth arch. After the jig was attached the dove-tails and bolts were removed. The third arch was then removed. This arch had a large amount of rot on west side. A two-by-four was attached so the straps could have something to hold on to. The third arch was lowered to the ground without a problem. We finished with the third arch around 4:30pm, it was decided that we would stop here because to remove the second arch we would also have to remove the first arch. Even though we experience minor set-backs in the morning we still managed to accomplish a great deal of work. We far exceeded Van’s schedule expectations of one arch per day.
