The entire class met at the Faunsdale Café in Faunsdale by 1:15p.m. From there, the cars were caravanned to Demopolis to the historic house of Bluff Hall, set on the white cliffs of a beautiful river, and home of Trilby Rag. Trilby Rag is a doll with one of the largest wardrobes in Alabama, being passed from sick child to sick child. Trilby is a creepy carrier of many diseases. On her birthday, Trilby would be lowered by a rope from the porch to awaiting children in the yard - bizarre rural Alabamian behavior. After touring the home and the grounds surrounding it, we moved over to Lyon House, an example of preservation rather than restoration.
