Hey Everybody!
This past weekend, my classmates and I spend time to help out with the Outreach Thesis students on building Dinah Young’s home. It began on Saturday morning as we all were split up into three teams and each team does a specific task. There was a team who was in charge of making the walls, another making the trusses for the roof, and another to be at the site to prepare for the installation of the walls and roof. While we were out there, there was a slight mishap to the foundation, but fortunately the entire group managed to fix the problem and continue to strive on to finish the house. While a group of us and the thesis students were installing the walls, several of us and myself included helped digging out a trench for the water line to the house. Toward the end of the day, many of us were pretty exhausted, yet we all felt accomplished to what we contribute to our weekend. As a result, Dinah was a joy to be around with when we worked at the site and she is very greatful for her new beautiful home.
