Storms a comin’

We had every intention of working a full day out at the site, but mother nature seemed to have other plans. The team was working out at the site as usual removing and tagging and storing the church members. Things were good up until mid-morning when rain came in scattered showers. The drops of water rained randomly off and on like scattered showers usually do, finally fed up with the rain the group headed out for Morrisette, which proved unwise as a window appeared in the front and work could be done. After lunch a few of us headed back out to finish up the tasks that had been started that day and thus we left before our typical 4 pm finish time. But the storm came back in full swing with driving rain and howling winds. At Morrisette we could the tornado sirens from Greensboro, the sky grew dark and the air had that strange feel to it usually associated with tornados and other bad weather that usually produces terrible damage. We started to ride out the storm from the large roof behind Morrisette but sideways rain forced us inside. Ten minutes later the sun started to come out and that was it. All we got was a ton of rain, however, as we would later learn Enterprise, Alabama would not be as fortunate. The town suffered comsiderable damage to business and residential areas alike and sadly, the local high school was badly hit. Unfortunately, some students lost their lives when the storm struck.
